:iconamro0:
Feature It Monday Presents: Amro0Today,  :iconfeature-it-monday: would like to introduce the first of (what we hope will be a new and regular Thursday feature for the group) our special mystery guest interviews. It's a true honour to have the following interview from such a talented artist.
Amro Ashry, is not only a very talented portrait artist, but he has also been accredited with a special feature for a UK magazine called Advanced Photoshop UK (the feature date is: 01-05-2013), and the interview can be read in full by clicking on the thumbnail:
Recently, Amro0, a huge fan of the TV series Castle, had one of his pieces mentioned on Twitter, by an actress called Molly Quinn, who stars on the show:
Without further ado, I hope you all welcome Amro0 to :iconfeature-it-monday: as one of our newest member's, and please, visit his gallery: :iconamro0:  - you'll be amazed as I was at its beauty!

Amazing Feature and Interview with Amorphisss!Hi, everyone :)
Here is our second exciting :iconfeature-it-monday: interview with the winner of the Solo Feature competition (which you helped vote for last week!)
Without further ado, let's move onto the amorphisss :iconamorphisss: interview! :)
1- Could you tell us a little about yourself and when did you start creating digital art?
My name is Christos Karapanos, I am 32 years old and I am from Greece. I had always had a very good relationship with painting but I started to occupy more seriously when I bought my first computer in my 24 years, because digital art could give me more options and possibilities. I started working mostly with photomanipulations as it was an easy way to learn how to use Photoshop. I am self-taught in free-hand drawing, drawing generally and Photoshop. I mainly work about subjects of the world of fantasy and I am influenced by mythology, metal music and fairy tales. I have made book covers, illustrations, cd covers, tattoo designs and game artwo

On to the interview with the amazing :iconblackchaii:
1. Could you tell us a little about yourself and when you started creating digital art?
I am 22 years old and I am from Sweden. I've drawn for as long as I can remember and started with digital art about 4-5 years ago. At the beginning I didn't own a tablet so I actually drew in Photoshop with the mouse cursor. So you can imagine my excitement I got when I bought my first wacom tablet! I've always enjoyed doing portraits and characters, so continuing with that in digital art just fell naturally.

2.How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
I joined deviant

1- Could you tell us a little about yourself and when did you start creating digital art?
My name is Eli Vokounova. I am 22 years old, female, Czech. I study Humanities/Liberal Arts at Charles University in Prague and now it's my last semester there. I plan to continue studying master degree at Gender Studies.
I've started creating digital art in 2006. I have no digital art related education, I am a self-taught artist.

2- How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
I joined DA in 2004 for the first time, a friend suggested it to me. I did some drawing back then but I didn't have the patience to practice and get better. I came back in 2006 an

Feature It Monday Present's: A Double Feature! Before we go onto the :iconMSpaintdog: interview, :iconfeature-it-monday: would like to share with the group what entitled: Spaceship by KennethJensen meant to MSpaintdog :
I know this will not win, and that's okay. If someone, or maybe a few someones, read this, and if even one person gets a glimpse of how I see this, it will be a 'win' in my books.
This needs a bit of back-story.....Years ago,[most of a lifetime, in fact] my dad worked at a factory that built rockets. Think NASA, not fireworks....and the last big project they had, the last few years before they shut the factory, were those great big monsters that went into the Saturn IV's. Yeah,...Apollo. So, it's the summer of '69, and I vaguely recall a long talk my dad had with me about something that was going to be on T.V. What I remember vividly, however, was watching that rocket lift off, I mean, this really WAS Star Trek!
In the years since then, I have seen our dreams of space dwindle, year by y

1- Could you tell us a little about yourself and when did you start creating multi-media art (i.e. poetry, artisan crafts and photography)?
I grew in a family with craftsmen/women and artists. People who work with their hands a lot. Art and music were encouraged a great deal. I first started making jewelry when I was nine years old when I saw a girl in my fourth grade class making a friendship bracelet. My mom caught me stealing her yarn to do this so she took me to get some books and materials. When I hit high school I bored with friendship bracelets and wanted to explore further into its origins. That's when I discovered macrame. Now I'm 30 years old and have been making modern macrame jewelry for 21 years. I originally wanted to draw line art and possibly get a job as an illustrator, but brain and n

1- Could you tell us a little about yourself and when did you start creating art?
Well, my name is Raphael, a 27 years old man, working as a graphic designer.
I was born and raised in Israel, and I'm quite busy searching for my own apartment now days :)
My biggest passion for the last 13 years is art, without a major competition  ;) . While drawing and painting is the most dominant aspect of art for me, I also love and cherish many forms of art, for I'm also writing (finished a Hebrew novel, and am about to start another one), and I play the guitar as well. Lately I started learning the violin too (struggling though :sniff: )
I think my first serious artistic work took place at the age of 13 or 1

1- Could you tell us a little about yourself and when did you start creating digital art?
My name is Artur Rosa. I’m 48 years old, portuguese, married, one son, one dog.
I have a degree of Electronics Engineering and I currently work as IT manager in a local factory of a big multinational corporation.
My work has nothing to do with art or computer graphics and I never had any kind of art training. My images are the result of a self-taught hobby that started somewhere in late 2006. The trigger for this hobby was another hobby: playing SimCity. I was addicted to this game and, at a certain point, I wanted to create assets for the game. These assets were 3D objects, so I had to learn how to create these. One thing lead to the

My name is Alina Valebnaya and I’m from Ukraine. I’m currently working as a translator, tutor of English and also obtaining PhD in Linguistics. So as you see art isn’t my profession, but it’s a true passion for me, a way to pour out the feelings within me, a kind of diary for my life and a way to escape from dullness of reality in a dreamy fantasy realms.

2- How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
I remember that I found some very beautiful picture in the internet and there was a DA logo on it, so I decided to visit this s

A very special feature/interview with Ryan HallHello everyone:wave:
Today I have an amazing artist interview for you all.... Ryan Hall better known as frogbillgo here on DA, He has a gallery that is nothing short of amazing. So please take the time to head over to his gallery you wont be disappointed. Of course after you read our interview with him :)
Okay on with the show!
1. Ryan, could you tell us a little about yourself and when you started creating digital art?
Sure! I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and eventually moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where I studied art and design at NCSU. After college I jumped into the video game industry and have been making art for games ever since. I've been drawing my whole life but I didn't really get into digital art until about 4 years ago. I was always a pencil and Bristol board kinda guy, but once I got my hands on a Wacom Cintiq, I started doing all of my line work digitally and really pushed my coloring.

2. How di

Well my name is Paul Stowe, and as the avatar name suggests I live in Shanghai, although born and raised in the UK. 1- Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in photography?
My name is Olivia, I am 19 years old and live in Germany. This year I got my A-levels and I'd like to study medicine.
I got my first camera on February, 15th, 2010, my 16th birthday. It was a cheap Medion cam, but with it I got the passion to catch moments. It was almost impossible to shoot creatively, but I tried. And then my grandfather died in April. That was the moment I decided to take pictures seriously, since I did not have many pictures of my grandfather. I worked the whole summer from 6AM on to earn money for a DSLR and in August, I made the best investment ever: My D5000.

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in digital art/manga & anime?
My name is Gabrielle Ragusi and I'm a young Italian artist. I study Human Sciences and Art.
I started drawing when I was a child, when my dad had the time to teach me how to love art.
My interest in manga art started when I was something like 6 years old, watching and reading those series that I still love: Sailor moon, Cardcaptor Sakura and Cat's Eye.
Then, when I was 13 years old, I became more serious about manga while reading Yuki Kaori and Watase Yū's works: so I started drawing my own manga's (big failure ahah!)
On the contrary, the interest for dig

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in traditional art?
My name is Veronika Vajdová and I'm from Slovakia. I am 22. Currently I'm studying medicine in Czech republic.
Actually, I don't think there was a time when I was not interested in traditional art. I've always been doodling something everywhere I could. (Chairs, tables, walls... and no, not only when I was a child ) I stopped during my last years of high school, because I felt that there's not much I can achieve as a self-taught artist. Only after joining dA I realized how wrong was that assumption and I gradually started experimenting with pencils and charcoa

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in digital portrait art?
My name is Ivana, I'm 25, from Serbia. I enjoy all sorts of art, but digital painting is my No 1 passion. I started getting familiar with Photoshop back in 2002, but 2009 was the year when I finally started with some serious practice.

2 - How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
That's actually quite a funny story. I haven't joined DA for the sake of art, or community. I joined it because I needed space to upload my artwork, which was too big for Photobucket :D Well, in my defense I ha

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in poetry/literature?
My name is Windy. I'm currently 20 years old (but I will be 21 by the time this interview is released). I will also have my associates degree in Liberal Arts. For as long as I can remember, I have always been into creative things. When I was little, I could spend hours drawing or filling up my coloring books with various hues. But it wasn't until middle school when I realized how much I love poetry. It was just a whole new world for me. I liked the way that I could play with words, and use them to express my thoughts or feelings. Furthermore, I enjoyed telling stories throu

I'm most commonly known as Dreamlight (which is short for Walking in Dreamlight), and it's a special name for me, and means so very much
I've been writing in one way or another since I was very young. I've always been interested in stories and imaginary worlds, and love reading and creating new places and people in my mind, and it's only really in the la

My name is Cyril Rolando, I am 29 years old, and I work as psychologist. I paint on digital support since 10 years, and I decided to work as professional in October 2013.
Indeed, the digital art was just a hobby, an outlet to help me to express the hard stories I listen too, when I work as psychologist. Art and psychology are both necessary in my life.

2 - How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
I joined DA in 2004, after six months drawing on oekaki board. When I decided to work on photoshop, I made a lot of new pa

My name is Genesis, I am 23 years old and live in Germany and some seasons in Spain.
I drawing in charcoal since childhood, but it was at age 13 years old, when my dad bought me Photoshop, because I spent many months in hospital because of my leukemia and I needed distraction, and digital art became a therapy but I didn't dare to share my creations until two years ago. Hello  I'm Zotya, a 16 years old student from Hungary. Later, I want to go to university and become an IT-expert or program developer, because i'm quite good at it. I started making digital art 5 years ago, when my IT-teacher first showed me Blender3D. Although I'm not a professional, I always try to make realistic looking 3D scenes.
I'm interested in fractal art too, especially the 3D kind, the mandelbulbs. If you want to know more, find me at the group chatroom, I'm online everyday :)

1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in Digital Art?
I’m a digital illustrator from San Francisco. As a child I wanted to recreate the world as I saw it. My first canvases were the walls of my home and it’s been a strange, fantastic ride ever since. A lot has changed since then, but I still have that childlike excitement every time I see and create art. I began taking art more seriously when I discovered Photoshop around age 11. Working with unlimited colors and canvases allowed me to grow and develop my style. I eventually moved to Georgia to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and am currently working o

My name is João Pedro, I am 18 years old and I live in Brazil.
I got my first camera two years ago, in 2012. It was a Sony DSC H-55 model. As a compact camera, it was really nice and I learned much about photography with this, even if I can't control the focus and other settings. I bought my first DSLR, a Canon Eos Rebel T3i (Canon 600D), in 2013.

:bulletred: The Future Poetry

In Sri Aurobindo's theory of poetry, written under the title The Future Poetry, he writes about the significance that art and culture have for the spiritual evolution of mankind. He believed that a new, deep, and intuitive poetry could be a powerful aid to the change of consciousness and the life required to achieve the spiritual destiny of mankind which he envisioned. Unlike philosophy or psychology, poetry could make the reality of the Spirit living to the imagination and reveal its beauty and delight and captivate the deeper soul of humanity to its acceptance. It is perhaps in Sri Aurobindo's own poetry, particularly in his epic poem Savitri, that we find the fullest and most powerful statement of his spiritual thought and vision.

My behind, was whipped raw that day!
Behind the stinging tears
I heard the callous emotion
of your cackled laughter
as you dangled gleefully
from pitchfork embedded
in our old apple tree
As the months
then years wore on
the beatings grew
in intensity
with the emphatic whisperings
emanating from
your mischevious mouth
Broken window
punctured tire
spankings and strappings
smashed bottles
fingers and thumbs
defacing homeade pies
with long hours
spent
in locked rooms
dark, except
for the murmurs
that accompanied
the tender hugs
from
your little arms and legs
wrapped around my neck
And so I grew
in height and size
attitude too
it often seems
where I no longer go home
but hang out with pals who smoke
things with strange smells

Hope you enjoy
