Petals of Red Roses

She stood there
ankles in water
upon patterned tiles
of a circular nature
hands outstretched
and draped
with strings of pearls
long blonde hair
flowing around shoulders
of turquoise silk
brocade of flowered gold

She watched as people
from all over
stood before her
and placed rose petals
in the water
to bond gently
with her skin

The only thing
she was asked to do
at any point in the day
when she felt
the time was right
was to close her eyes

And after eyes closed
until they opened again
when dreams travelled
further than mind
the people that come to the
see the statue named the
"Petals of Red Roses"
always see her smile
and the rose quartz
that appears in her hands
